the experiences from donor conceived people.

I understand this point of view.

It can be confronting for people considering a donor egg pathway who want to do the right thing for their future child(ren) to hear some of the experiences from donor conceived people.

This is a very new industry and the babies that were born 20 years ago (when the medical industry advised intended parents not to tell their future kids about their conception story) are now becoming adults and are sharing their experiences about how they found out about their conception story and what that means to them.

There are many adults out there who have been psychologically
harmed.

Some DC people found out as adults and had their very foundations rocked.

Felt betrayed by their parents for not telling them the truth earlier.

Some found out by mistake through dna tests.

Some were told as a child and told to keep it a secret as if it was something to be ashamed of and carried that shame with them all of their life.

This makes me so sad and I'm just so grateful to these people for sharing their stories so that we can all learn from mistakes made in the past and do better.

This is an evolving conversation and a changing landscape.

As a DE (intended) parent I invite you to embrace any feelings of discomfort and instead explore what's coming up for you when you hear stories that might confront you.

Sending love and support on your journey xox Adele
